CONFIRMED Disneyland's Splash Mountain to Close Permanently in May

Disneyland has OFFICIALLY announced that Splash Mountain will be closing permanently on May 30th 2023. This ride has been a staple at the park since 1989 and has been enjoyed by millions of visitors over the years.

The closure of Splash Mountain is part of a larger effort by The Walt Disney Company to update their attractions with more diverse characters and stories. In place of Splash Mountain, Disneyland will be introducing Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is based on Disney’s 2009 movie “The Princess and the Frog”.

The new attraction will feature a boat ride through the Louisiana bayou with Tiana as your guide. It will also include music from the movie as well as other interactive elements.

While some fans are disappointed to see Splash Mountain go, many are excited for the new adventure that awaits them in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The new attraction is expected to open in late 2024 and promises to be an exciting addition to Disneyland.

The ride will replace Splash Mountain, which will close its doors on DATE after what will be a record-breaking final day. Splash Mountain was an iconic ride that had been around since 1989, but is now being reimagined as Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

The new concept for the ride will take guests on a journey through the Louisiana bayou with Princess Tiana and her friends Louis the Alligator, Ray the Firefly, and other beloved characters from the movie. Guests can expect to experience exciting boat rides and thrilling adventures as they explore Tiana’s world.
