Disney Imagineering Files Installation Permit for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Set at Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a permit for the site of Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom, which is currently under construction. The new attraction will be located in the Frontierland area of the park and will feature a variety of interactive elements that bring to life the story of Princess Tiana from Disney's 2009 animated film "The Princess and the Frog".

Permits were also filed yesterday for show set installation at Tiana's Bayou Adventure. According to Disney, the new attraction will open in late 2024. Guests can look forward to experiencing an immersive journey through Louisiana bayous with their favorite characters from the movie.

Disney has previously said that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open in late 2024 at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. This news comes after Disneyland announced that Splash Mountain would permanently close on May 30th 2023.

Splash Mountain was originally inspired by "Song of the South" but has been criticized for its racist depictions and stereotypes.

In order to create a more inclusive experience, Disney decided to reimagine Splash Mountain into a new attraction based on "The Princess and The Frog". This new attraction will allow guests to join Princess Tiana on her journey through Louisiana bayous as she searches for her happily ever after.

It looks like we have something exciting to look forward to in late 2024! We can't wait to experience this adventure with our favorite characters from "The Princess and The Frog".
